Dave Moore

Professor and Chair, Watershed Management & Ecohydrology
Lovejoy Fellowship Mentor
Dr. Moore is an ecosystem ecologist who studies how forests, shrub lands and grasslands work.  His work combines long-term flux tower observations with remote sensing and modeling to understand how ecosystems respond to drought, heat and rising CO₂. His research spans the drylands of the southwestern United States to arctic and boreal forests, and increasingly takes a global view through the FLUXNET network that measures the exchange of carbon, water and energy between land and atmosphere. His work informs how much carbon land can be expected to store, and how much water land needs to be healthy and resilient.
