On May 1st, the Lovejoy Center hosted a panel of four experts to discuss the future of nature financing at the inaugural DC Climate Week: Elizabeth Losos, Doug Miller, Bella Tonkonogy, and Chetan Hebbale. Focused on emerging innovative environmental market solutions, the event drew forty people who are passionate about a vision for a better future despite current funding losses and the deprioritization of initiatives to combat climate change and biodiversity loss. Panelists brought perspectives from across sectors to cover the breadth of policy, planning, data, and finance efforts needed to close the financing gap. Thank you to our panelists for sharing their incredible insights and experience, and to Rachel Gallery for moderating.

Following the panels, conservation leaders from around the world gathered with friends and family of Tom Lovejoy to celebrate the launch of the Lovejoy Center. Director Sharon Collinge, Rachel Gallery, Phoebe Meixner, Jonathan Bean, and Jen Garcia represented the Arizona Institute for Resilience (AIR) in a wonderful evening of connection, good food, and conversation.
